The Firm was highlighted in the Financial Times’ 2012 U.S. Innovative Lawyers Report, which honors U.S. law firms that consistently create innovative solutions to solving business problems for their clients. Simpson Thacher was ranked as a “Standout”/First Tier firm in the Finance category for advising Carlyle in connection with designing a program to match investors with secondary buyers for Carlyle's buyout funds. Tom Bell, Barrie Covit and John Creed advised Carlyle on the program.
