Simpson Thacher Represents Microsoft in $2.25 Billion Debt Offering

The Firm represented Microsoft Corporation in connection with a public offering of $2.25 billion of debt securities.  The underwriters were led by Barclays, J.P. Morgan and UBS Investment Bank.

Microsoft offered $600 million of 0.875% Notes due 2017, $750 million of 2.125% Notes due 2022 and $900 million of 3.500% Notes due 2042.  The net proceeds from the transaction will be used for general corporate purposes, which may include funding for working capital, capital expenditures, repurchases of capital stock, acquisitions and repayment of existing debt.
