Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP announced today that Jonathan Lindabury has joined the Firm as a Senior Counsel in the New York office. He will be an attorney in the Firm’s global Derivatives Practice.
Mr. Lindabury has extensive experience in structuring and negotiating complex derivative and equity-linked capital market transactions. He joins the Firm from Goldman Sachs, where he was Vice President, Associate General Counsel. Lindabury also practiced for a number of years in the equity derivatives group of another major New York-based law firm.

Simpson Thacher’s derivatives practice, which is led by Corporate Partner Joyce Xu, provides clients globally with legal and strategic advice on ideation, structuring and execution of all types of derivatives products, including equity derivatives, fixed income derivatives, foreign exchange derivatives, credit derivatives, commodity derivatives and fund-linked derivatives. The Firm’s clients in this area include major financial institutions, corporations, hedge funds, private equity funds, mutual funds, insurance companies, sovereigns and high-net-worth individuals. The Firm also advises clients on the impact of unfolding legislative and regulatory developments affecting derivatives.
Mr. Lindabury received his J.D. from Columbia University School of Law, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, and his B.A. from Vanderbilt University.
