On July 5, 2012, the Honorable James C. Mahan of the United States District Court for the District of Nevada entered an Order of Judgment granting Simpson Thacher’s directed verdict motion on behalf of client National Fire & Marine Insurance Company in an equitable contribution trial against six Zurich-affiliated insurance companies. Judge Mahan had previously granted National Fire's motion from the bench at trial. The lawsuit is one of a series of equitable contribution cases in which the firm represents National Fire involving construction defect related claims brought by the Zurich entities.
