Stacie McGinn to Speak at Knowledge Congress' "Dodd-Frank: Leverage and Risk-Based Capital Requirements for Banks" Live Webcast

Simpson Thacher bank regulatory partner Stacie E. McGinn will participate in the Knowledge Congress seminar, “Dodd-Frank: Leverage and Risk-Based Capital Requirements for Banks” live webcast on May 17, 2012.  The webcast, which also features the General Counsel of the FDIC, will provide an overview of significant changes to bank capital requirements including:  Basel III; the Collins amendment; enhanced prudential capital standards applicable to SIFIs; and annual capital plans (CCAR), stress-testing and other supervisory issues. It will also discuss the implications of these changes, including: increases in overall capital requirements (new minimums and buffer requirements); elimination of trust preferred securities as a form of Tier 1 capital; capital deductions for certain assets (e.g., MSRs, deferred tax assets, investments in financial firms); and applicable phase-in periods.
