Simpson Thacher has represented funds managed by Perry Capital in acquiring a controlling interest in Barneys New York, a leading fashion retailer, by converting senior secured debt to equity as part of an out of court recapitalization that deleverages the company’s capital structure. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
