Simpson Thacher Recognized as “Gold Star Pro Bono Firm” by Immigration Equality

Immigration Equality, the leading national organization representing lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) asylum seekers, has announced that STB is one of nine firms which won the organization’s ‘Gold Star’ status for pro bono services. Together, the ‘Gold Star’ firms represented one-third of the organization’s new clients in 2011, and won asylum or withholding of removal for 41 LGBT and HIV-positive people fleeing persecution, with additional cases still pending.
