Corporate partner Elizabeth A. Cooper was named the “Up & Coming Regulatory Lawyer of the Year” at the inaugural Chambers USA Women in Law Awards. She is recognized for her mergers and acquisitions work for financial institution clients, with Chambers noting her representation of The Charles Schwab Corporation in its $1 billion acquisition of optionsXpress Holdings, Inc.
Other Simpson Thacher partners honored by Chambers at this event included capital markets partner Laura Palma, who was nominated for “Finance Lawyer of the Year,” personal planning partner Laura M. Twomey, who was nominated for “Up & Coming Wealth Management Lawyer of the Year” and derivatives partner Joyce Y. Xu, who was nominated for “Up & Coming Finance Lawyer of the Year.”
