STB recently won asylum at the Asylum Office for our client, a fugitive slave from Mauritania who feared persecution on account of his homosexuality. Throughout his life, our client was regularly beaten, tortured, and verbally abused by his master, police officers, and other non-governmental actors, and feared he would be persecuted and possibly murdered if he returned to Mauritania. This matter was referred to the firm by Immigration Equality. The team included associate Joshua Kiman and partner Joe Tringali.
