At its 2012 Commitment to Justice event on February 9, 2012, inMotion will honor associates Whytne Brooks, David Tejtel, Hayley Urkevich, Courtney Welshimer, and paralegal Magallie Kortright, for their representation of an immigrant woman from the Dominican Republic in a contested divorce, custody and support action against her long-time abuser husband. The firm also assisted the client in obtaining immigration status through a VAWA petition. This case represents one of the many hundreds of matters handled by STB attorneys and summer associates since the firm’s partnership with inMotion began in 1998. The program is overseen by partner Libby McGarry. For more detail about this matter, please click here to see the July 2010 Pro bono Newsletter, on page 4.
