Simpson Thacher is representing Hellman & Friedman in connection with Blackstone Capital Partners VI L.P.’s definitive agreement to acquire a controlling interest in Emdeon Inc. (NYSE: EM). The transaction, which is valued at approximately $3 billion, will result in Emdeon becoming a private company. Hellman & Friedman had invested in Emdeon in 2008 and will maintain a significant minority equity interest in Emdeon.
Emdeon is a leading provider of revenue and payment cycle management solutions, connecting payers, providers and patients in the U.S. healthcare system.
