Associates Emma Lindsay and Ana-Claudia Roderick recently won asylum for a West African client of the Firm, a man with albinism, who was granted asylum based on his arguments that he faced discriminatory treatment and safety concerns arising from his physical condition. The STB team won the case at the Asylum Office, despite the challenge that the client applied for asylum seven years after coming to the United States, well after the one-year deadline for filing asylum applications. The matter was referred to the Firm by the Refugee Assistance Program of the City Bar Justice Center and overseen by partner Todd Crider.
