Simpson Thacher Represents KKR in Acquisition of 50% Interest in Sorgenia France

The Firm is representing Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (“KKR”) in connection with a €260 million (approximately US$379 million) joint venture entered into with Sorgenia S.p.A., a leading European utility company, regarding the wind farm power generation assets of Sorgenia S.p.A. in France with an aggregate installed capacity of approximately 250MW.
This is the first portfolio investment of the recently formed KKR infrastructure funds. KKR teamed up with Partners Group, a global private markets investment management firm, on this transaction. The transaction is expected to close during the second half of 2011.
