Simpson Thacher represented the underwriters, led by Morgan Stanley & Co. Incorporated, J.P. Morgan Securities LLC, Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Incorporated and Citigroup Global Markets Inc. in connection with the public offering by Texas Instruments Incorporated of an aggregate of $3.5 billion in investment grade notes.
Texas Instruments designs and makes semiconductors for sale to electronics designers and manufacturers all over the world. The company intends to use the net proceeds from the sale of the notes primarily to fund its pending acquisition of National Semiconductor.
