Simpson Thacher corporate partner Todd Crider moderated and spoke at the “Pro Bono & The Legal Profession: Strengthening Access to Justice” international conference organized by the Cyrus Vance Center for International Justice of the New York City Bar and Fundación Pro Bono of Chile on April 7, 2011 in Santiago, Chile.  Mr. Crider moderated the Brazil focus of the panel entitled “Strategic Dialogue by Country.”  In addition, he gave the introduction and spoke on the panel entitled “The Pro Bono Declaration for the Americas …the Road Ahead.”  Over 400 lawyers attended the conference, including attorneys from Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Spain, the United States, Uruguay and Venezuela.  This conference marked a decade from the commencement of coordinated multilateral efforts to develop a culture of pro bono and public service in the legal profession in Latin America.
