Simpson Thacher Represents Underwriters in $2.25 Billion Debt Offering by Microsoft

The Firm represented BofA Merrill Lynch, Credit Suisse, Goldman, Sachs & Co., HSBC, Morgan Stanley, RBS and The Williams Capital Group, L.P. in connection with a public offering of $2.25 billion of debt securities by Microsoft Corporation.

Microsoft offered $750 million of 2.500% Notes due 2016, $500 million of 4.000% Notes due 2021 and $1.0 billion of 5.300% Notes due 2041. The net proceeds from the transaction will be used for general corporate purposes, which may include funding for working capital, capital expenditures, repurchases of capital stock and acquisitions.
