On January 14, the Firm hosted a group of college students participating in LatinoJustice PRLDEF’s LAWbound® Project’s winter program. Launched in 2005 under the leadership of LatinoJusticePRLDEF’s Education Director, Sonji Patrick, the LAWbound® Project is focused on increasing the number of low income, promising Latino/a students engaged in activities that put them on the path to becoming attorneys. LAWbound® aims to provide the information students need to get into law school, prepare them socially for the rigorous networking they will need to pursue to become lawyers, and expose them to a variety of careers within the legal profession. Executive Compensation and Employee Benefits Partner Alvin Brown welcomed the students, and Simpson Thacher associates Aby Castro, Craig Katerberg and Marcela Robledo described their work in the Firm’s Corporate, Executive Compensation and Employee Benefits and Litigation/Intellectual Property practice areas. The program was coordinated by Oscar Orellana, Diversity and Pro Bono Coordinator. For more information about LatinoJusticePRLDEF, click here.
