Los Angeles Office Hosts Visit from KIPP LA Students

On September 22, 2010, Simpson Thacher’s Los Angeles office hosted 23 7th and 8th grade students from LA Prep, a KIPP charter school, as part of the Firm’s Urban Education Initiative. The day's program included a panel discussion on the various careers at a law firm, tours of the office, and mock interviews to prepare the students for private high school interviews. Eighteen attorneys and staff members including Litigation partner Mike Kibler participated in the visit. The day’s events were organized by Corporate associate Jennifer Levitt and Litigation associate Jessica Marek. Attorneys from the Los Angeles office are coaching these students for a mock trial competition in November.
