Simpson Thacher litigation partner Peter Thomas participated in a panel discussion entitled “Ending Homelessness through Pro Bono Work” sponsored by the National Law Center on Homelessness & Poverty. The event was held on July 8, 2010 in Washington, D.C., and the panel discussed the value of pro bono service in working to end homelessness. Mr. Thomas described the significant efforts of Simpson Thacher’s Washington, D.C. attorneys on their project for the National Law Center to draft proposed implementing regulations for the provisions of the Violence Against Women Act enacted by Congress in 2006 to protect victims of domestic violence, date violence and stalking in public and Section 8 housing.
