Simpson Thacher Represents Underwriters in Foreign Currency-Denominated Debt Offering by América Móvil, S.A.B. de C.V.

The Firm represented underwriters, led by Deutsche Bank, BNP PARIBAS and HSBC, in connection with a public offering by América Móvil, S.A.B. de C.V. of the equivalent of approximately U.S.$3 billion principal amount of debt securities that were denominated in euro and pounds sterling. The debt securities consisted of €1 billion of 3.75% Senior Notes due 2017, €750 million of 4.75% Senior Notes due 2022 and £650 million of 5.75% Senior Notes due 2030.
The Firm recently represented the initial purchasers in a Rule 144A/Regulation S offering of U.S.$4 billion of debt securities by América Móvil that closed in March 2010.
América Móvil, which is organized in Mexico, is the largest provider of wireless communications services in Latin America, based upon its 201.0 million subscribers in 18 countries at December 31, 2009. Mexico, Brazil and Colombia are América Móvil’s single largest markets.
