Simpson Thacher is assisting First Reserve and Blackstone in connection with the proposed acquisition by PBF Energy Partners LP, a partnership composed principally of affiliates of The Blackstone Group, First Reserve and Petroplus Holdings AG, of the Delaware City refinery from Valero Energy Corporation. The parties expect the transaction to close in the second quarter of this year. The Simpson Thacher team working on the transaction includes Bill Curbow, Shalini Aggarwal and Lauren Gee (M&A); Mike Isby (Environmental); Brian Robbins and Aimee Adler (Executive Compensation and Employee Benefits); Nancy Mehlman (Tax); and Julie Levy (Labor).
