This year is the twenty-second anniversary of the annual Tulane Corporate Law Institute in New Orleans, to be held on April 15 – 16, 2010. The Institute has been called “the equivalent of Davos for the rainmaker crowd” by The New York Times and “the most important gathering of its kind” by Corporate Control Alert. (Click
here to view the Tulane website and brochure.) Mr. Spatt is the Co-Chairman Emeritus of the Institute. Mr. Spatt and Mr. Finley will co-moderate a panel entitled “Proxy Access and Shareholder Activism: Dawn of a New Age or Return to the Dark Ages?” Mr. Finley and Mr. Spatt have submitted to the Institute for inclusion in its materials a number of excellent previously published materials. In addition, Mr. Spatt has once again updated for the Institute his oft-cited article on deal jumping, “The Four Ring Circus – Round Fourteen; A Further Updated View of the Mating Dance Among Announced Merger Partners and an Unsolicited Second or Third Bidder.” A downloadable version of this article can be found below.
