Simpson Thacher Represents Underwriters in $3 Billion Shelf Takedown of Senior Notes by Nomura Holdings

Simpson Thacher recently represented the underwriters, led by Nomura International Securities, Inc., in a shelf takedown of $1.5 billion 5.00% Senior Notes due 2015 and $1.5 billion 6.70% Senior Notes due 2020 of Nomura Holdings, Inc. The offering represented the first SEC-registered debt issuance by Nomura Holdings. The Notes are listed on the Singapore Exchange.

Nomura Holdings is one of the leading financial services firms in Japan and has worldwide operations. As of December 31, 2009, Nomura Holdings operated offices in over 30 countries and regions including Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom, Singapore and Hong Kong, and had total consolidated assets of ¥29.8 trillion.
