The Tokyo office of the Firm recently represented the international managers, led by Morgan Stanley Japan Securities Co., Ltd., Nomura International plc, Mitsubishi UFJ Securities International plc and J.P. Morgan Securities Ltd., in a global offering of common stock by Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Inc. that raised approximately $11 billion for the issuer. The portion of the global offering conducted outside of Japan included a private placement to qualified institutional buyers in the United States in a manner exempt from the registration requirements of the Securities Act and an offering outside the United States in reliance on Regulation S.
