The Firm recently represented UBS Securities and Samsung Securities in connection with the initial public offering of Jinro Limited (“Jinro“), a distiller in South Korea. Jinro was founded in 1924 and manufactures wine and other spirits, and is the world's largest producer of soju, a spirit most commonly derived from rice. The offering consists of an international placement outside Korea of 1,875,000 common shares and a public offering in Korea of 12,525,000 common shares. The offering was conducted in reliance upon Regulation S under the U.S. Securities Act of 1933.
The Simpson Thacher team for the transaction included Jin Hyuk Park, Kristina Kang, Yeon Jin Seong and Sarah Park (Corporate).
