Simpson Thacher represented Hellman & Friedman in connection with the organization of Hellman & Friedman Capital Partners VII, L.P., an approximately $8.8 billion private equity fund focused on making large-scale equity-related investments primarily in the U.S. and Europe. Hellman & Friedman, a San Francisco-based private equity investment firm, is a leading investor in a number of industries including business services, information services, internet/digital media, asset management, insurance, other specialty financial services, media, healthcare, energy and industrials. With the closing of HFCP VII, Hellman & Friedman has raised over $25 billion of committed capital since its first partnership was formed more than 20 years ago.
