Simpson Thacher partner and head of the Firm's Exempt Organizations Group, Victoria B. Bjorklund, and senior counsel David A. Shevlin, will speak at the Not-for-Profit Executive Seminar "Adopting Proper Procedures and Internal Controls for Restricted Gifts," hosted by Simpson Thacher and Grant Thornton on September 15, 2009 at the Marriott East Side in New York.
Ms. Bjorklund and Mr. Shevlin will provide guidance to not-for-profit organizations on gift policies and gift instruments. They will share best practices in ensuring adequate controls and procedures, and how to account for restricted gifts, including underwater endowments.
