Simpson Thacher Represents UBS AG in $2.5 Billion Sale of UBS Pactual to BTG Investments

Simpson Thacher is representing UBS AG in the sale of its Brazilian financial services company, UBS Pactual, to BTG Investments, a private investment management firm, for an aggregate purchase price of approximately $2.5 billion. The consideration will be cash and the assumption of liabilities from UBS AG and the transaction is expected to close in mid 2009, subject to regulatory approval.
