Simpson Thacher Recognized in Asian-Counsel’s Deals of the Year 2008

Simpson Thacher has been recognized in Asian-Counsel’s “Deals of the Year 2008” for its role in four notable Asian transactions.  The Firm was honored for its representation of BOCI Asia Limited, J.P. Morgan Securities Ltd., UBS AG and ABN AMRO Rothschild in connection with the Hong Kong IPO and Rule 144A/Regulation S offering of 3,824,900,000 H shares of China Railway Group Limited, the largest integrated construction group in Asia and a Fortune Global 500 company. To read more about this transaction, please click here.

The Firm was also honored for its representation of Aluminum Corporation of China (Chinalco), the Chinese government-controlled diversified metals and mining company, in connection with its acquisition of a minority stake in Rio Tinto, the dual-listed iron-ore company.
