Simpson Thacher represented China Medical Technologies, Inc. in its SEC-registered concurrent offerings of 4.00% Convertible Senior Notes due 2013 in the aggregate principal amount of $276 million and up to 4,700,000 American Depositary Shares, which ADSs are being purchased by affiliates of the underwriters of the convertible notes offering pursuant to ADS issuance and repurchase agreements with the Company. The convertible notes offering was increased from its initial announced $150 million aggregate principal amount. Morgan Stanley & Co. Incorporated and Credit Suisse Securities (USA) LLC acted as underwriters for the convertible notes offering and the ADS offering. China Medical Technologies is a leading China-based medical device company listed on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the trading symbol "CMED".
