Simpson Thacher litigation partners Peter Bresnan (Washington, DC) and Mark Stein (NY) were panelists at two Directors Roundtable conferences held in Boston and Chicago on April 15 & 16, 2008. The programs, entitled "Key Issues Facing Boards of Directors: Dealing with Government Regulation & Enforcement in the Current Environment" examined key regulatory and enforcement issues of concern to Boards of Directors, owners, top management, and General Counsel. Other speakers on the panels included David Bergers, Regional Director (Boston) of the SEC; Diane Freniere, Assistant U.S. Attorney & Chief in the White Collar Crime Section; Merri Jo Gillette, Regional Director (Chicago) of the SEC; Prof. H. Todd Henderson, Assistant Professor of Law at University of Chicago Law School; and Carmina Hughes, Executive Director of Daylight Forensic & Advisory. The Directors Roundtable is a civic group that organizes preeminent worldwide programming for Directors and their advisors.
