Simpson Thacher Represents Underwriters in U.S.$1 Billion Debt Offering by América Móvil, S.A.B. de C.V.

The Firm recently represented underwriters, headed by Credit Suisse and Goldman, Sachs & Co., in connection with an offering by América Móvil, S.A.B. de C.V. of U.S.$1 billion of debt securities, consisting of U.S.$600 million of 5.625% Senior Notes due 2017 and U.S.$400 million of 6.125% Senior Notes due 2037. The notes were sold in a public offering registered under the U.S. Securities Act of 1933. The notes will be listed for trading on the EuroMTF Market of the Luxembourg Stock Exchange.

América Móvil, which is organized in Mexico, is the largest provider of wireless communications services in Latin America, based upon its 143.4 million subscribers in 16 countries at September 30, 2007.  Mexico, Brazil and Colombia are América Móvil’s single largest markets.

The Simpson Thacher team for the transaction included Glenn M. Reiter, Won Sun Jung, Patricia Ruvalcaba and Alexandre Brito, as well as Jonathan Cantor (Tax) and Mark Lab (Blue Sky).
