On Friday, June 1, Richard Beattie, the Chairman of the firm, together with the Brennan Center for Justice, hosted a luncheon for Governor Eliot Spitzer with civic, business and educational leaders of New York City to discuss the need for campaign finance reform in New York State. Governor Spitzer's plan would reduce the size of contributions, close loopholes and strengthen enforcement. It is a national leader in the fight for campaign finance reform and voting rights, among other proposed changes.
