Litigation Partner Jack Kerr and Litigation Associate Janet Whittaker spoke at the American Chamber of Commerce of the Dominican Republic's "Seminar on Investor-State Dispute Settlement under DR-CAFTA." Mr. Kerr and Ms. Whittaker spoke on the "General Aspects of Chapter 10 of the DR-CAFTA and the Private Sector perspective on Investor-State Dispute Settlement", focusing on the arbitration of investors' claims against states under DR-CAFTA and the new Dominican Republic Central America Free Trade Agreement. The seminar was attended by Secretary of State and Director of the Center for Exportation and Investment of the Dominican Republic, the Dominican Republic's free trade and investment treaty negotiators, and the President of the Supreme Court. It took place on February 8, 2007 at the Hotel Jaragua in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
