Simpson Thacher will be partnering with the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under Law to serve as one of three New York City Election Protection call center sites supporting the 1-866-OUR-VOTE initiative of the Election Protection Coalition. The 1-866-OUR-VOTE is the only voter assistance hotline staffed by live call center operators trained to provide state specific assistance to all voters. The Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under Law and the Election Protection Coalition are both non-partisan groups. The Firm joins Proskauer Rose LLP and Kirkland & Ellis LLP in supporting this effort.

Thirty-five partners and associates have volunteered to serve as call center operators on Monday, November 6th and Tuesday, November 7th. Volunteers will inform voters of their rights and solve problems on issues such as voter identification requirements, voting machine malfunctions, problems at polling places, and voter intimidation. The 1-866-OUR-VOTE initiative targets historically disenfranchised communities, including Hispanic, African-American and low-income areas, by providing these voters with key information and advice.

Exempt Organization Partner Victoria Bjorklund will serve as the Firm's Election Protection manager for both days.
