Simpson Thacher represented the underwriters, led by Citigroup Global Markets Inc. and Lehman Brothers Inc. and co-managed by Deutsche Bank Securities Inc. and Thomas Weisel Partners LLC, in the initial public offering of common stock by Ikanos Communications, Inc., which closed on September 27, 2005. The offering of 6,500,000 shares raised $76.8 million for Ikanos.
Ikanos is a leading developer and provider of highly programmable semiconductors that enable fiber-fast (up to 100 Mbps) broadband services over telephone companies’ existing copper lines. Ikanos’ chipsets are incorporated in communication systems that are deployed by telephone companies to enable subscribers to access data, voice and video content.
