Asia Legal Business recently announced its "Deals of the Year Awards Japan 2005". Simpson Thacher and deals in which the Firm was involved received nominations in nine of fifteen eligible categories and received four awards: Equity Deal of the Year (INPEX privatization); Technology Deal of the Year (Elpida Memory Inc. IPO): Energy & Resources Deal of the Year (J-Power privatization and IPO); and International Dealmaker of the Year (David Sneider).
