Simpson Thacher Represents JPMorgan as Global Coordinator in IPO of Glow Energy

Simpson Thacher represented JPMorgan as global coordinator and lead initial purchaser in connection with the initial public offering of ordinary shares of Glow Energy Public Company Limited, one of the largest private electricity generators and providers of industrial utilities in Thailand. The offering, which closed on April 19, 2005, was conducted as a Thai-registered initial public offering in Thailand and a Rule 144A/Reg S offering outside of Thailand.

The offering of 440,000,000 ordinary shares raised approximately $275 million for Glow Energy and its shareholder Suez-Tractebel Energy Holdings Cooperatieve U.A., a subsidiary of Suez, an international industrial and services group based in Europe.

The Simpson Thacher team who worked on the offering included Phil Culhane, former associate Kit Wilson, Irene Law, Dan Fertig and Ivy Peng in the Hong Kong office and former associate Adam Rosenzweig (tax), Thomas Gray (tax) and Mark Lab (blue sky) in the New York office.
