Simpson Thacher Represents The New York Public Library In Google Digitization Transaction

Simpson Thacher represented the New York Public Library in the historic transaction with Google, publicly announced today, pursuant to which Google will be digitizing and making available on-line books from the collections of a number of the world's leading research libraries, as part of the "Google Print" program.
The New York Public Library is the only public library participating in the program. The other libraries announced as participants in the project are Harvard University, Oxford University, Stanford University and the University of Michigan.
The Simpson Thacher attorneys who advised the New York Public Library on this matter are Hank Gutman, Lori Lesser, Alison Dow and Mark Solomon. Victoria Bjorklund represented the NYPL on not-for-profit issues.
