Partner Julia Kohen was profiled in Law360 as a “Rising Star” in Banking for 2020. Julia was recognized for her work advising private equity giants and middleweight firms on the financing aspects of more than 40 funds with commitments totaling more than $20 billion over the past 18 months, including co-leading on the financing for the establishment of Blackstone Real Estate Partners Europe VI which closed at €9.8 billion—the largest dedicated European real estate fund ever raised. When discussing what motivates her, Julia noted that fund finance is "very much a relationship-driven lending space," and that those relationships continue to play out long after a deal is closed. “There's still the life of the deal that continues, and that part can actually be more exciting because you really have that relationship with clients…you have to continue to work with the client to make sure that they are in compliance, have flexibility and can access the funding that they need," Julia said.
