Marisa Stavenas was profiled in Law360 as a 2018 Capital Markets MVP. She was recognized for steering several complex financing transactions on behalf of Hovnanian Enterprises, which refinanced bonds via a debt exchange offer and loans from Blackstone Group’s global credit arm. Discussing the transaction, Marisa said “On my very first transaction when I started at Simpson in 1999, I happened to be staffed on a merger transaction for [Hovnanian] so I’ve been working with them for basically 18 years. So it was really a personal accomplishment, too, to help them with the transaction.”

In the Law360 profile, Marisa noted she draws inspiration from her colleagues at Simpson Thacher and is motivated to help her clients based on strong relationships she has formed with them over the years. “The depth of the relationships I’ve formed over the years with my clients motivates me to do my best to represent them,” she said. “It’s a good day when a successful deal is done and I feel that I have added value to the transaction.”
