Real Estate Partner Scott Kobak was profiled by Law360 as a 2021 Real Estate “MVP.” Law360 highlighted Scott’s work on behalf of some of the world’s most prominent private equity sponsors in connection with several high-profile real estate transactions, including his role advising Blackstone Infrastructure Partners and BREIT on their $10 billion acquisition of QTS Realty Trust, and KKR in its joint venture with Dalan Management to buy a large portfolio of residential units in Brooklyn during the height of the pandemic. In addition to reflecting on the pride he feels in helping young lawyers to develop and succeed, Scott also noted that the collegial nature of the Firm and opportunity to work with a large cross-section of both colleagues and clients as being particularly motivating. He said, “It’s gratifying not only to bring our combined strengths to bear for the clients, but we genuinely like working together, and the clients really appreciate seeing our teamwork in action to get these highly complex deals done. . . .” In describing his advice for junior attorneys, he encouraged them to pick and choose what they see as the best qualities from a range of senior lawyers and strive to emulate them.
