Miju Damodar is Counsel in the Firm’s Banking and Credit Practice, where he advises lenders and borrowers in the structuring and execution of a wide range of debt financing transactions, including leveraged and acquisition financings, general refinancings, restructurings and asset-based and reserve-based financings. Miju has advised on transactions in a number of industries such as manufacturing, healthcare and energy.

Work Highlights

Miju’s representative work prior to joining Simpson Thacher includes advising:

  • Clayton, Dubilier & Rice in the financing aspects of its acquisition and subsequent combination of Fort Dearborn and Multi-Color Corporation, to create the world’s largest label solutions company
  • Elara Caring, a Kelso & Company portfolio company, in its successful out-of-court restructuring, which included new money revolving and term loan financings and uptier debt exchanges
  • Royal Bank of Canada in various senior secured credit facilities provided to finance cross-border acquisitions of U.S. and/or Canadian companies
  • Steel Reef Infrastructure in its acquisition of natural gas infrastructure assets from Crescent Point Energy
  • Penfund Management in connection with various direct lending investments, including second lien credit facilities provided for sponsor-backed acquisitions and secured and unsecured mezzanine debt
  • Cona Resources in the change of control tender offer for its senior notes and related financing by way of a second lien term loan and a drawdown on its existing credit facility

Prior to joining Simpson Thacher, Miju practiced in the debt finance groups at leading law firms in New York and Canada and also spent time as senior counsel at an investment manager. 

Miju received his J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2015. He is admitted to practice in New York.
