Litigation Partner David Vann, Counsel Ellen Frye and Associate Étienne Renaudeau co-authored a memorandum republished on the Harvard Law School Forum on Corporate Governance and Financial Regulation’s website. The memorandum, “EU Court Affirms That Parent Companies, Including Private Equity Firms, May Be Held Jointly and Severally Liable With Less Than Full Share Ownership of Portfolio Companies That Breach EU Competition Laws,” discussed the General Court of the European Union’s decision to dismiss Goldman Sachs’s appeal of a decision which found the company jointly and severally liable for the cartel conduct of a portfolio company held by Goldman Sachs-affiliated funds.
