05.04.20

Partners Greg Grogan and Jeannine McSweeney, and Counsel Andrew Kofsky and Daniel Venditti authored an article titled, “The Families First Coronavirus Response Act: New Sick Leave and Child-Care Leave Laws,” which was published by ABA Health eSource. The article outlined the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, noting how the multi-billion dollar law aims to temper the financial impact of COVID-19 on states, territories, the uninsured, the unemployed, workers and individuals who rely on food assistance, such as children and low-income seniors. It also highlighted some of the most significant provisions of the law, including those that addressed two-week emergency paid leave for COVID-19 related quarantines and sickness, and paid Family and Medical Leave Act leave for care of children whose school is closed or whose child care provider is unavailable due to COVID-19, as well as additional guidance from the Department of Labor.
