Partners Lori Lesser and Nick Goldin, and Counsel Vanessa Burrows and Andrew Kofsky authored an article titled, “Strategies for Complying With Privacy Laws While Collecting Employee Information Regarding the Coronavirus,” which was published by NYU School of Law's Compliance & Enforcement Blog. The article highlighted strategies for U.S. companies to comply with various privacy laws in connection with collecting and using information about their employees’ travel plans and health conditions to protect their workforce from the spread of COVID-19. The article specifically analyzed the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA), the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act (GINA), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
