Partners Atif Azher, Mark Brod and Dan Webb were quoted in The Deal in an article titled, “Private Briefing: Institutional Investors to Keep Edge Amid Market Frenzy.” The article analyzed the recent flurry of direct listings, IPOs and de-SPACs. In discussing factors contributing to this increase, Mark said that some streamlining by the previous SEC administration has resulted in increased access for more investors and has played a role in the growth of SPACs. Atif further noted that larger private companies may be more inclined to go public under their private equity incentive and stock plans. Meanwhile, Dan mentioned that companies who would otherwise be doing a Series D or Series E venture round, and may be one or two years away from going public, are also more frequently contemplating a de-SPAC.
