Prominent Tax Partner Benjamin Rippeon Joins Simpson Thacher

Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP announced today that Benjamin Rippeon has joined the Firm’s Tax Practice as a Partner in the Washington, D.C. office.

“We are excited to welcome Benjamin to Simpson Thacher,” said Bill Dougherty, Chairman of the Firm’s Executive Committee. “His broad experience advising on tax issues across transactional matters further enhances the Firm’s capability to assist our corporate and private equity clients as they navigate the increasingly complex tax landscape.”

Benjamin focuses on tax planning for investment funds and strategic corporate and real estate acquisitions, dispositions and reorganizations. He represents a broad range of clients, including corporations, investment funds, joint ventures, partnerships, limited liability companies and special purpose acquisition companies (SPACs) on domestic and international taxation matters. Benjamin has also advised on the formation of numerous private REITs in connection with real estate acquisitions and dispositions involving U.S. and non-U.S. investors, including sovereign wealth funds.
