Alan Klein Quoted in Reuters on Trends in Global M&A

Alan Klein, Co-Head of Simpson Thacher’s Mergers & Acquisitions Group, was quoted in a Reuters article titled, “Fewer companies caught the deal bug in the year of the pandemic.” The article discusses the dip in global mergers and acquisitions activity in 2020 as a result of the financial disruptions stemming from the global pandemic, but noted that the dealmaking market saw marked return in the second half of the year, with dealmakers saying that they expect the strong momentum for deal activity to continue into 2021. Alan commented on the new administration’s potential impact on cross-border dealmaking in particular, saying that “The change in U.S. administration may make people outside the U.S. feel more comfortable about investing in the United States.”
