Corporate Partner Rajib Chanda was quoted in an article in BoardIQ, a Financial Times publication, titled, “As CIT, SMA and ETF Assets Rise, Board Influence May Fall.” The article discussed how the rise of investment vehicles—such as collective investment trusts and separate accounts—is creating an array of issues that mutual fund directors should be aware of, such as how assets are allocated. Rajib noted that it is important for boards to understand how an adviser launching new vehicles with similar strategies can impact mutual funds’ abilities to access holdings that may have a limited supply, such as illiquid asset classes or initial public offerings.
